11 people were injured when an escalator malfunctioned after Saturday's Cubs-Brewers game at American Family Field.

The escalator was carrying about 100 people when it began moving at "increased downward speed", the team says.

Here's how CHGO Sports reporter Greg Braggs Jr., who was on the escalator at the time, described it: "The entire thing just broke loose and started running downhill like a rollercoaster, essentially. And so, I'm watching the people ahead of me getting piled on top of each other as everybody is falling over each other that is hitting the bottom."

Six people were taken to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, while the remaining victims were treated at the ballpark.

Braggs believes the escalator was carrying too much weight and that the stadium should have limited the number of people on it at one time.
