The Santa Fe Police Department has launched an internal affairs investigation into an officer with a checkered past - a K-9 named Ayke.
Turns out Ayke has a problem with biting people - including one former officer who sued the department after an injury that required plastic surgery.
The department insists that its K-9 program is valuable for detecting drugs or explosives, and does not pose a threat to the public.
