Akron Woman Sentenced for Crash that Killed Son, Nephew

(Akron) - The Akron woman who pleaded guilty to causing a car crash that killed her nephew and son was sentenced Wednesday. 31-year-old Tynicka Allen received a sentence of four years and nine months in prison from Summit County Court of Common Pleas Judge Alison Breaux for the incident.

On October 6, 2022 it was said that Allen's car crashed into a vehicle on South Arlington Street and 6th Avenue in Akron during a funeral procession. Her 12-year-old son Tymar and her six-year-old nephew Trevond Walker Jr. were said to be hanging out of Allen's car when the crash happened. They were both ejected from the car and died from injuries. Allen pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and endangering children on October 4 of this year.
