Michael Deemer, President & CEO from The Downtown Cleveland Alliance spoke to Bill about Clean and Safe - Illuminate CLE - Symphony at Sunset

Clean and Safe

  • Our Clean Ambassador remain hard at work. This year alone they have collected over 381,000 pounds of trash! That’s equivalent to the weight of 9 RTA buses!
  • In addition, we have extended our hours Thursday to Saturday until 3:30 AM
  • Did you know our ambassadors can provide assistance with car lockouts, flat tires, jumpstarts, and more
  • Our services can be accessed by contacting the Operations Center at 216-621-6000.

Illuminate CLE

  • Last week, Downtown Cleveland experienced a public lighting demonstration to be installed along Euclid Avenue.
    • The illuminations will ultimately be scaled and replicated throughout the entire space in the first half of 2024.
  • The lighting infrastructure provides more than just aesthetic benefits to Downtown Cleveland. The increased lighting deters criminal activity and provides additional safety in the city’s core.
    • Lighting up Downtown creates an increased perception of safety by connecting key corridors and encouraging foot traffic and economic activity throughout the core
  • This illumination is part of our Reimagining Downtown Plan created in partnership with the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Destination Cleveland, and Greater Cleveland Partnership.
    • Our unified goal is to transform Downtown Cleveland into an 18-hour, 15-minute neighborhood that weaves districts and surrounding neighborhoods into a seamless urban fabric.
    • This important collaborative effort will complement other place enhancement strategies to attract modern economic activity and provide a world-class experience for all who work, live, visit and play Downtown

Symphony at Sunset

  • Pack a picnic and head to North Coast Harbor on Sunday evenings this month from 7:30-9pm to experience the remarkable OPUS 216 ensemble.
  • This week Guest artists Lalia Mangione and Rebecca Shasberger from Renovare Music join OPUS 216 for a night of mixed genre music for strings!
  • Sunday July 23rd at Voinovich Bicentennial Park
