Cleveland Museum Of Art Offering A Weekend Full Of Family Fun Events

It looks like the Cleveland Museum of Art is the place to be this weekend.

The renowned museum offers various events to help those brush up on some history or have a fun family day.

Fun with Flash Fiction

Every third Saturday of the month, the Arnes Family Atrium hosts a firsthand look at the art process of the exhibition China through the Magnifying Glass: Masterpieces in Miniature and Detail from noon to 4:00 pm. The free event is in collaboration with the Literary Cleveland virtual Flash Festival, which is happening on Feb. 18.

Family Play Day

The Cleveland Museum wants to bring the whole fam out to play day. The event is during Fun with Flash Fiction, so you'll have to choose which event you wish to attend. The event allows the whole family to be creati e. Family Play Day is on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Activities include:

  • The chance to zoom in on real art objects with microscopes from the CMA's objects conservation lab
  • Hands-on object exploration with artworks from the CMA's education art collection
  • Artist in the Atrium: Fun with Flash Fiction with Literary Cleveland
  • Personal seal or stamp making
  • Mini book and zine making
  • A giant collaborative drawing
  • "Big and Small"–inspired family discovery packs
  • A creative play space, games, and more!

Flash Fiction Workshop

To complete the saga inspired by the exhibition China through the Magnifying Glass: Masterpieces in Miniature and Detail, the Flash Fiction workshop offers a writing lesson. The event is an hour on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
