Car Crash In Parma Causes Serious Injuries To Two People

PARMA, OH - Two people suffered serious injuries and were transported to Metro Health Medical Center's main campus after being involved in an accident on Wednesday. The crash involved a 19-year-old male driving a 2005 Dodge Neon southbound on Hauserman Rd. approaching Deborah Dr. as a 66-year-old female was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Astrovan attempting to make a left-hand turn from Deborah Dr. onto Hauserman Rd. northbound. A crash occurred between the two vehicles which entrapped the 19-year-old male within the Dodge and ejected the female from her van.

The male’s vehicle had flames coming from the engine compartment which were extinguished by police officers and good Samaritans that stopped to render aid. The male, who was unconscious upon arrival of first responders, was extracted from the auto by the “Jaws of Life” by Parma Fire Department personnel.

Parma Police believe that speed was a contributing factor in the accident and they say case remains under investigation by the Parma Police Traffic Crash Reconstructionist Ptl. Thomas Kuchler.
