The 82-year-old was pronounced dead at a Long Island nursing home, only to be discovered alive and then taken to a hospital -She was taken to OB Davis Funeral Homes in Miller Place, New York, at 1.30pm. Police said she was discovered breathing at 2.09pm - Then she was taken to a hospital & no update yet on her condition. The apparent premature declaration of death occurred days after a continuing care home in Iowa was fined $10,000 over a similar case. Authorities in Iowa said that a 66-year-old woman was declared dead on 3 January at the Glen Oaks Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Urbandale, Iowa, where she was receiving hospice care.
