Suspect in Custody After Shooting in Half Moon Bay, California

A shooting on Monday at two separate locations in Half Moon Bay, a small coastal community in central California, killed at least seven people and critically injured one person.

The suspect who was later identified as 67-year old Chunil Zhao has been taken into custody a little more than two hours after the shootings according to San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus.

At this time in the investigation, the motive is unknown.

One shooting took place at a Mushroom farm and the other near a trucking facility nearly two miles away from the farm. The suspect was located in his vehicle near the parking lot of a Sheriff's substation and was taken in without incident. A semi-automatic handgun was found in his vehicle at the time of his restraint.

All of this, just days after a mass shooting in Southern California Saturday night that left 11 dead in Monterey Park.

This is a developing story.
