CLEVELAND - On January 10, at approximately 3:15 pm, officers responded to shots fired outside John Adams High School. On arrival, Police found 18-year-old Pierre McCoy next to the bus stop at the intersection of Corlett Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Mccoy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ward 2 Councilman Kevin Bishop spoke with the media and said he believes McCoy was targeted.
“Early reports say it was a coordinated attack on the youth here,” he said. “My heart goes out to the family and this child’s loved ones. It’s unthinkable what happened in this neighborhood again.”
Preliminary information indicates that the victim was at the bus stop outside of John Adams High School and that there were approximately 25 other people at the bus stop. The suspect walked directly up to the victim, shot him multiple times, and fled on foot.
The suspect was described as a male wearing all black, including a puffy black coat, ski mask, boots, and jeans.
No arrests have been made.
