CLEVELAND - On Wednesday, Coats for Kids held a coat event at the Douglas McArthur Girls Leadership Academy. The event was made possible and sponsored by Chick-Fil-A.
WTAM was at the event and spoke to Sheila Lienerth, the Owner and Operator of the Chick-Fil-A in Parma, and she told WTAM.
"Our employees sold cookies for the entire month of November love knowing that this is what they were going to be able to see anything in the community by selling those cookies, so we're so honored and blessed to have this opportunity to be here."
WTAM also spoke with Nadine Graham. Nadine is the marketing director at the Chick-Fil-A location in Lorain. She told WTAM.
"Just feels great to work with Coats For Kids, to be able to come to these schools and be able to give every single child that's in my school a coat, so that part makes me feel very warn inside .Chick-Fil-a is very giving and loves being a part of the community and I feel like this is a great way for us to be out and about collaborating with the great organization as well ."
The Douglas McArthur Leadership Academy students thanked the Chick-Fil-A and Coats for Kids volunteers with a "Thank Moo!" in honor of the Santa-dressed cow.
Coats for Kids runs an annual collection drive of new and like-new winter coats in all sizes – infant to adult.
Each year, from November through early January, collection bins are in place at area malls, other local businesses accept coat donations, and area organizations conduct coat collection campaigns.
