Chick-fil-A Host 2nd Annual “Cookies for Kids” to Support Coats for Kids

CLEVELAND - Chick-fil-A® restaurants in the Cleveland area are teaming up to host a “Cookies for Kids” fundraiser now through November 30 to support Coats for Kids Cleveland. For each individual and six pack of Chocolate Chunk Cookies sold for the duration of the fundraiser, participating restaurants will donate all proceeds to Coats for Kids Cleveland to provide winter coats to children in need in Northeast Ohio.

Local restaurants participating in the program will also take part in special one-day events at schools in the Akron City and Cleveland Metropolitan school districts, distributing coats and food to elementary and pre-K through eighth grade students in need. The schools are selected based on the percentage of students living in poverty as determined using data from the Ohio Department of Education and the Free/Reduced Lunch Program. “We are proud to give back to this incredible organization as they help keep children warm during the winter season,” said Tony Alexander, local restaurant Operator of Chick-fil-A Willoughby Commons. “We hope to see our neighbors come out and support this meaningful cause together.”

Last holiday season, more than $40,000 was raised during the Chick-fil-A Cleveland’s Coats for Kids campaign. Coats for Kids is dedicated to keeping children in need warm, with the mission to distribute new or like-new coats to children throughout northeast Ohio. Each year, the organization collects donations and works closely with public school districts in five northeast Ohio counties to give coats to students whose family incomes are below poverty level.
