Guardians Hold Off Late Royals Rally; 7-5 To Pick Up 90th Win

CLEVELAND, OH--- The Guardians take on the Royals in the third game in this six game series. Shane Bieber would start for the Guardians against Max Castillo of the Royals. The Guardians would start off hot in the first two innings, as Amed Rosario would hit a sac fly to right field to bring in Will Brennan to make the score 1-0. In the second inning, the Guardians would open the scoreboard wide open as they would hit two 3 run homers in the inning. The first one was off the bat of Will Brennan to right center field and the second coming from Josh Naylor as the score would become 7-0 after the bottom of the second. In the fourth inning, Kansas City would finally get on the board as Michael Taylor would reach on base via an error as Edward Olivares would score 7-1. Two pitches later, Drew Walters singles to center field to bring in Taylor to make it 7-2.

Later in the game the Royals start a come back rally beginning in the seventh inning as Ryan O'Hearn singles to left field as Vinnie Pasquantino to make it 7-3. In the eight, Kansas City continued to produce runs as MJ Melendez singled to right field to bring in Drew Walters to reduce the score 7-4. Later in the eighth, Vinnie hits a single as Nate Eaton scores to make the score 7-5 and the scored would hold as Emmanuel Clase comes in and makes his 41st save of the season as the Guardians gets win number 90.

The Guardians will continue this series, as game four will be tomorrow evening here in Cleveland. First pitch is scheduled at 6:10
