Two of the Four Newest SNL Cast Members Have Cleveland Ties

When the 48th season of the longest-running sketch comedy show on TV debuts on October 1st, the roster will feature two comedians with Cleveland connections, as Molly Kearney and Marcello Hernandez have been added to the show’s cast, along with Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker.

Kearney was raised in Cleveland before moving to LA, and Hernandez graduated from John Carroll University in 2019 after navigating the Cleveland comedy scene for the better part of three to four years. They won't be the first SNL cast members from the Cleveland area, as they join both Vanessa Bayer who was from Orange, and Molly Shannon who had the Shaker Heights connection. The four latest additions to SNL were made after Melissa Villaseñor, Alex Moffat, Aristotle Athari, Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, Kyle Mooney, and Pete Davidson each left at the conclusion of the show’s 47th season.
