Apparently, the deputy police chief of the Cartersville Police Department didn't check with other law enforcement agencies before he decided to hire a prostitute last week. If he had, he likely wouldn't be facing felony solicitation charges today.

Deputy Chief Jason DiPrima was taken into custody last Thursday after he answered an online ad for a prostitute while attending a seminar in Orlando, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. DiPrima met the woman and gave her $180 and a pack of White Claw Hard Seltzer in exchange for a half hour of "full-service" sex, the sheriff's office reports. That's when he learned the hooker was actually an undercover sheriff's detective.

Although DiPrima was released over the weekend on a $500 bond, he didn't return to work. The Cartersville Police Department has suspended him while officials are investigating the incident, a rep for the department says.
