Airport Baggage Handler Dies After Hair Gets Stuck In Belt Loader

An baggage handler at a New Orleans airport was killed when her hair got stuck in the belt loader.

Authorities at Louis Armstrong International Airport say the victim, 26-year-old Jermani Thompson, was helping offload and inbound plane when her hair became entangled in the machinery.  

She was severely injured and later died at the hospital, officials say.

Thompson was employed by GAT Airline Ground Support, who contracts with Frontier Airlines.
