The American League is celebrating a victory at the Midsummer Classic. The AL topped the NL 3-2 at the MLB All-Star Game in Los Angeles. It's the ninth straight season the American League is coming away with a win. Framber Valdez was credited with the victory after pitching a scoreless inning of relief. Giancarlo Stanton and Byron Buxton went back-to-back with home runs in a three-run fourth inning. Tony Gonsolin was tagged with the loss after allowing three runs on four hits. Paul Goldschmidt went deep in the loss for the National League. Stanton was named the game's MVP.
