Fairview Park Graffiti Suspect Arrested

(Fairview Park) - Police have arrested a suspect in Friday's vandalism of the front of an LGBTQ+ youth center, and of a nearby storefront. Fairview Park police say more information about the suspect will be released after he's in court on Tuesday.

The Colors+ Youth Center on Lorain Road was vandalized about 6 a.m. Friday. The center had a Black Lives Matter banner in the front window. This is being investigated as a hate crime. The LGBTQ+ center had racist graffiti painted on its windows, and the window with the BLM banner was smashed out.

Fairview Park Police are also trying to determine if this crime is related to one in which someone spray painted graffiti on a vacant storefront at the Fairview Shopping Center on June 12th. The storefront was the former home of Blockbuster Video.
