Developer Scott Wolstein Passes At The Age of 69

Real estate developer and CEO of the Wolstein Group, Scott Wolstein, passed at the age of 69. The Wolstein Group is largely responsible for the revitalization of The East Bank of The Flats in Cleveland. Scott is the son of Bart and Iris Wolstein. The Cleveland State Convocation Center is now called “The Wolstein Center” on the CSU campus.

Bart Wolstein created Developers Diversified Realty in 1992. After joining the company, Scott helped take the company public and build up their real estate portfolio which includes about 500 shopping centers nationwide.  The company, now called SITE Centers (now SITE Centers)  has reported assets of more than $18 billion.

Some of the non-profit groups and organizations that Scott Wolstein was involved in include Park Synagogue, University Hospitals, Greater Cleveland Partnership, Case Western Reserve along with others.

Wolstein went to Hawken High School and got his Bachelor of Science degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and he received a law degree from the University of Michigan.

Funeral services will be at Park Synagogue on Tuesday, May 31st at 10:30 a.m. in Cleveland Heights. He’s survived by his mother, Iris; his former wife, Jillian, his four children and his sister, Cheryl.
