Family Dollar Employee Shot Back at Alleged Robber, Suspect At Large

Cleveland- On Sunday Cleveland Police received a call from the Family Dollar located at 2704 Clark Avenue.

The Police report says a man went into the store to buy a bag of chips. The man approached the counter to pay, but when the male employee opened the register to give the customer change. The suspect then pulled out a gun and reached into the cash register.

The suspect then pointed the gun at a female employee and went to flee the store.

As the suspect was fleeing, the Female employee grabbed a gun of her own and followed the suspect.

The suspect then open fire on the female employee who then fired back striking the suspect in the leg, the suspect then ran away.

When officers arrived they took the employee's gun as evidence and went to search for the suspect.

The officers were not able to find the man. But upon searching the area, police found an abandoned backpack with a gun inside.

Video from the Family Dollar confirmed it was the suspect's backpack.

The incident remains under investigation.
