(Mentor, OH) -- A Northeast Ohio elementary school teacher is being honored with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Math and Science.
This month, the Biden Administration announced that Stephanie Nowak of Fairfax Elementary in Mentor was one of two Ohio teachers to earn the honor this year.
Established in 1983, the PAEMST is the highest award a teacher in Kindergarten through 12th grade can receive from the U.S. Government for STEM teaching.
Winners of the award also receive a cash prize and a certificate signed by The President.
