Cleveland Clinic Launches Study to Research Diseases of the Brain

(Cleveland, OH) - The Cleveland Clinic is launching a new landmark study to research why millions of people worldwide suffer from diseases of the brain.

Clinic officials announced the initiative this morning, saying it will be the largest clinical study ever conducted on brain diseases.

Doctors say they hope to understand the early biofactors before symptoms develop to help prevent and cure neurological disorders.

Those eligible to participate include adults age 50+ with no known neurological disorder or neurologically healthy adults age 20+ who have a first degree relative (i.e., parent or sibling) diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

The study will collect data from 200,000 healthy individuals over 20 years.
