An Arrest Has Been Made in Connection to the Threats Received by Goodwill

(Cleveland, OH ) - An arrest has been made in connection to the threats received by Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio (GIGCECO).

Giovanni Stanley, 29, of Canton, was charged with making terroristic threats and inducing panic, both felonies. He was taken to the Stark County Jail.

Stanley is accused of making anonymous threats by email and phone to Goodwill on Tuesday, December 7 which ultimately forced the agency to close its 22 retail stores and five donation centers on Tuesday and Wednesday.

As a precaution, the neighboring Goodwill in Akron also closed its stores and donation centers

All-area Goodwill stores, except the Atlantic Blvd location in Canton, will be open tomorrow, Friday, December 10th.

The Atlantic Blvd Goodwill store located at 2630 Atlantic Blvd NE, Canton, OH 44705 will reopen Tuesday, December 14th with additional security.

Staff at this site are being compensated for time missed while also being offered counseling services.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information should call the detective bureau at 330-489-3144.
