Ohio AG to File Lawsuit Against Worker Vaccine Mandate

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is preparing legal action against the Biden administration, over the mandate to have employees at companies with more than 100 workers be vaccinated from COVID-19.

The administration announced rules for the mandate Thursday, which go into effect on January 4th. The authority would fall under the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, with expensive fines possible for workplaces that do not comply. Workers who do not get the vaccine would have to submit to weekly COVID-19 testing.

Yost says the rule is a case of government overreach, and could result in dangerous ICE detainees being released.

The Ohio AG added that sheriff's department across the state would lose valuable deputies if the mandate were to take effect.

The attorneys General of Kentucky and Tennessee also joined the legal action taken by Yost.
