Cleveland Cop Accused of Threatening To Shoot In Akron Bar

(Akron) - A Cleveland Police officer was arrested in Akron early Friday morning, after police in the Rubber City say the officer threatened to shoot up everyone in a bar.

It happened early Friday morning at Ray's Bar on West Market Street in the Highland Square neighborhood of Akron. Someone called 911 to say a man int eh bar lifted his shirt to show he had a gun, and he threatened to shoot everyone in the bar.

The man with the gun turned out to Cleveland Police Patrolman Sean Bannerman, who became a member of the Cleveland PD only last November. After making the threat, Bannerman left the bar, but was stopped about a half block away by the Akron PD. A loaded gun was found in Bannerman's car.

Cleveland Police have put Bannerman on unpaid leave until his case goes through the courts. He is still on his probationary period, having been with the department less than a year.
