Cleveland, OH - The Cleveland Division of Police are investigating the following incidents from October 19-20, 2021.
A fatal overdose at 11813 Summerland Ave. A 28-year-old male victim suffered a fatal opiate overdose.
A hit-skip incident with a pedestrian at E. 93rd. St. and Euclid Ave. An 18-year-old female was struck by vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled. The victim was transported to University Hospitals (UH) by EMS.
A fatal overdose at 13337 Wainfleet Ave. A 36-year-old female suffered a fatal overdose.
A homicide investigation at 12616 Locke Ave. A 37-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. On October 19, 2021 at approximately 10:55 p.m., officers responded to 12616 Locke for shots fired. Officers were notified that a victim had left the area in another car. A short time later, officers responded to a motor vehicle crash down the street and found the victim unresponsive in a vehicle crashed into a pole. Officers rendered first aid to the victim until the arrival of EMS who continued care and transported the victim to UH where he was pronounced deceased. At 12616 Locke, officers encountered a 30-year-old female who told them she’d shot the victim and that the gun was inside of her home. Members of the homicide unit responded to the scene for investigation. Preliminary information indicates that the victim and suspect know one another and had been hanging out. The two were involved in a physical altercation and the suspect shot the victim, the victim then left the area in his vehicle and crashed into a pole. The female was taken into custody and a firearm was confiscated at the scene. This matter remains under investigation.
