Flags of Honor to Set Up Over 400 Flags at Edgewater Park

(Cleveland, OH) - Flags for Honor is a celebration presented by the FBI Cleveland Citizens Academy Alumni Association to honor American heroes, mentors, and loved ones.

On Thursday September 9th at 9:00 AM at Edgewater Park, the FBI Cleveland Citizens Academy Alumni Association (www.fbiclecaaa.org) will begin to set up over 400 American Flags, honoring both Fallen and Active military, police, firefighters and other's honored by their loved ones. The flags will be displayed on Sept. 9-12 in honor of the individuals who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

At 12:00 p.m. noon there will be a public ceremony announce the opening of the Flags for Honor

The public is encouraged to visit the "Flags for Honor" from Thursday afternoon through Sunday evening and read the Honor Plaques on each Flag.

In 2020, the event highlighted those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year marks 20 years since the tragedy of September 11th, so the heroes and the fallen of 9/11 will be honored.

Honorees include but not limited to:

  • Heroes of 9/11
  • Fallen of 9/11
  • Local Firefighters
  • Local Law Enforcement
  • Active or Reserve U.S. Military Personnel
  • U.S. Military Veterans

The patriotic display of American flags can also be observed while driving down Route 20.

This year, proceeds will help support the FBI Cleveland Citizens Academy Alumni Association to support their mission of creating safer communities in Northeast Ohio.
