Ohio is home to one of the most popular national parks in America, and there are some “must-do activities” to fully experience it.

The data journalism hub Stacker ranked the most popular national parks in the country earlier this month. Next, its team highlighted the “must-do activities at every national park.” Stacker explains:

“Using data from the National Park Service’s Annual Park Ranking Report to rank the top 60 national parks by their recreational visits in 2020, Stacker searched for the best, most interesting activities to do at each, along with the best time to visit and how to prepare for a journey to each.”

The report notes, however, that anyone planning a trip to a national park should check its website before heading there because of possible COVID-19 restrictions.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park, located between Cleveland and Akron, is one of the most popular national parks in the U.S. it hosted more than 2,755,000 recreational visits in 2020. Visitors should plan to watch the birds in Beaver Marsh, Stacker advises.

Here’s what Stacker says about it:

“Great blue herons are just one of the magnificent birds visitors can see in the Beaver Marsh. They are regularly seen in and above the area, and some visitors even see their young. There are several more activities to participate in at Cuyahoga Valley, with John Pana of Cleveland.com recommending his top five: Hiking the Virginia Kendall Ledges, riding the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, biking along the Towpath Trail, taking in Brandywine Falls, and camping at the Stanford Trail campground.”
