Cleveland Police Investigations for August 11

Cleveland, OH - The Cleveland Division of Police are investigating the following incident that took place on August 10th and 11th, 2021.

A Fatal Overdose at 2165 W 96th St. A 28yr old female was the victim.

A shooting at 616 E 115th St. A 40yr old male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, EMS transported him to University Hospital.

A felonious assault on a police officer at W 56th St & Memphis Ave. On August 10, 2021 at approximately 230 pm, Cleveland Police Officers were flagged down by the manager of the McDonald’s at 5610 Memphis Ave for a male unconscious in a vehicle. Officers, along with EMS approached the running vehicle and attempted to speak to the male. The male woke up and put the car into gear and began going forward and then in reverse. Officers ordered him to stop. The male driver then injured two officers with the vehicle and fled the scene. The male driver was later arrested in the area of W. 66th St and Denison Avenue and a third officer was injured during the course of the arrest. Firearm(s) recovered inside of the vehicle. This matter remains under investigation. All officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

A fatal crash at E 93rd St. and Kinsman Rd. A pedestrian was struck. On August 11, 2021 at approximately 1103pm, a 66yr old male was walking southbound on from Kinsman Rd and E 93rd St. The male walked into the westbound lane of traffic and approaches a stopped RTA bus. The male attempts to make entry but was denied. The male then without looking crosses the street and is struck by a 2021 KIA Forte driven by a 21yr old male. The 66yr old male was taken by EMS to MetroHealth were he was pronounced. This matter remains under investigation.
