Union Home Mortgage Cleveland Marathon Announce Routes for 2021

Cleveland, OH - The Union Home Mortgage Cleveland Marathon today announced the routes for its 44th race to take place Oct. 23-24 in downtown Cleveland.

Marathon organizers have worked closely with health and safety officials from the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County and the State of Ohio to assemble routes that maximize safety while giving participants a striking view of the city that the marathon calls home.

This year, the marathon will begin and end at Public Square, featuring two loops that will go along the Shoreway, giving runners views of Lake Erie and major landmarks around downtown Cleveland. For example, runners will cross the Detroit-Superior and Hope Memorial Bridges and pass the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Great Lakes Science Center, FirstEnergy Stadium and the West Side Market. The new route will allow for a fast race with less turns than previous years.

“We share our runners’ excitement to gather in person this fall and think they will enjoy this amended route,” said Ralph Staph, Race Director of the UHM Cleveland Marathon. “We look forward to highlighting many of the hallmarks of Cleveland and offering runners the opportunity to take in stunning views of our city.”
