DETROIT--Six pitchers have already had no-hitters in 2021. Shane Bieber was close with no hits heading into the seventh inning as Jonathan Schoop connected with a solo home run. But the Indians offense made plays as the Cleveland Indians defeat the Detroit Tigers 5-2.

Indians manager Terry Francona made history and he didn't even know it during his postgame comments.

Harold Ramirez drove in runs in the first and sixth innings.

Then Eddie Rosario homer in the sixth against Matthew Boyd (2-6) who gave up four runs and six hits.

But the story was about Shane Bieber (5-3) who was once again impressive with 12 strikeouts and allowed only one hit in seven innings.

The Cleveland Indians took three of four against the Tigers this series. Indians will start RHP Eli Morgan in his major league debut on Friday night against the Toronto Blue Jays.
