DETROIT, MI -- Following the news of Cleveland pitcher Zach Plesac breaking his thumb, the tribe were desperate for a strong outing from Civale, and that's exactly what they got. Aaron Civale had everything working for him, tossing 8 full innings giving up 1 earned run on 6 hits, while striking out 6 batters. The Indians got on the board right away on a lead-off blast by Cesar Hernandez and never looked back, cruising to a 4-1 victory over the Tigers.

Cleveland rookie Owen Miller drove in his first career run on a hard hit ground out to the shortstop, bringing home a sprinting Eddie Rosario. Indians slugger A recently struggling Jordan Luplow gave Cleveland insurance on a 2-run homer to center field in the 6th inning.

The Indians continue their dominance against the Tigers, marking their 8th consecutive win against Detroit. Cleveland will look to take the first 3 games of the 4-game series on Wednesday evening when they will pit Cal Quantrill against Jose Urena. First pitch is set for 7:10 pm ET at Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan. Check out highlights from tonight's game below!
