No Charges Yet In Fatal Shooting Of Six-Year-Old

(Brooklyn) - Police are still investigating Saturday's shooting of a woman and her six-year-old son in their room at the Fairfield Inn and Suites hotel on Tiedeman Road in Brooklyn.

The mother, identified by police as Danechia Bringht, went to the hotel's lobby about 7 a.m. Saturday to call 911. In a recording of that call, she said she had been shot in the hand, and her son was shot, and in the room. Bringht told the dispatcher that the shooting happened 30 minutes earlier.

Brooklyn EMS tried performing CPR on the boy, but he died in the emergency room at MetroHealth Medical Center. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the boy as Kaamir Bringht, of Parma. The mother was treated and released.

Brooklyn Police arrested a suspect for questioning, but have not charged that person. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Invetigation is assisting in the case.
