(Cleveland) - The victim of a house fire on the West Side on Saturday was well-known local economist George Zeller.
Over the last 30 years, Zeller was the person we'd interview when we needed a quote about the local economy in Cleveland. He was an economist for many years with the Council for Economic Opportunities in Cleveland, dealing with poverty issues. He held that job until he was himself the victim of a layoff. Zeller continued being a private economist, and kept in the public eye as a member of RTA's Citizens Advisory Group.
Zeller was found inside his home on West 123rd Street, just south of Lorain Avenue, when it was on fire Saturday Morning. Cleveland Fire said the fire was accidentally started due to an electrical problem in the house.
