Fairview Park Police Blotter - Man Swerves To Avoid a "Green Thing"

March 17, 2021 OVI Lorain Rd. 2228 hrs

While on patrol, an officer observed a car had crashed into some trees. An ambulance was already on scene treating the driver. It was determined the driver was not experiencing a medical emergency and the man declined further medical treatment or transport to the hospital. The man told the officer that a green thing appeared in front of his vehicle and he swerved to avoid it, which caused him to crash. Signs of intoxication were observed and the man did not recall the accident occurring. Field sobriety tests were performed, which the man failed. The 24-year-old North Olmsted resident was arrested for OVI and brought to Fairview Park Police station where he consented to additional testing. His vehicle was impounded and he was issued a citation for OVI, BAC Greater than .17 and Failure to Control with a mandatory court date at Rocky River Municipal Court. He was released once he was sober.

March 17, 2021 Disorderly Conduct Parkdale Ave. 1150 hrs

Fairview Park Police responded to a report of a man who was possibly intoxicated in the intersection of Parkdale Ave. Upon arrival, an officer found a man lying on his back on the sidewalk. The man was conscious but did not respond when the officer asked about his well-being. An ambulance was requested at this time. The man eventually sat up with help from the officer and stated that he had drank a little alcohol. Signs of intoxication were observed and an ambulance transported the man to the hospital. The 45-year-old University Heights man was issued a citation in Rocky River Municipal Court for Disorderly Conduct-Intoxication.

March 19, 2021 OVI Sandy Lane 2124 hrs

Fairview Park Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on the wrong side of the street and the driver of the vehicle appeared to be unconscious. Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle was running and the driver was unconscious behind the wheel. Officers knocked on the window and woke up the driver. Signs of intoxication were observed and the driver was disoriented and did not know where she was. The 42-year-old Fairview Park woman was unable to complete field sobriety tests and was arrested for OVI and brought to Fairview Park Police station where she refused additional testing. Her vehicle was impounded and she was issued a citation for OVI with a mandatory court date at Rocky River Municipal Court. She was released to a responsible party.
