Lorain County Police Animal Stories

(Lorain County) - Police deal with all kinds of criminal activity. On Tuesday, there were trespassing cases dealt with by Amherst and North Ridgeville Police, involving trespassers. The four-legged kind.

In Amherst, police posted on their Facebook page that a resident of the city called, because calves wound up in a backyard. They say, it's not every day that happens. Police say why the baby cattle were adorable, the police couldn't keep them, and neither could the dog warden. The pictures were posted on social media, and the owner of the calves showed up.

Then, in North Ridgeville, a resident called and said, "I have a raccoon in my dishwasher." Luckily, Patrolman John Metzo has experience with this. He's the North Ridgeville officer who has dealt with cases like a kangaroo on the loose. It was determined the raccoon broke into the home through a bathroom light fixture, then ransacked the kitchen, and took a nap in the dishwasher. The four-legged bandit was taken away, not in handcuffs, but on a leash. Case closed.
