Proposal Made To Help Cuyahoga County Residents With Rent

(Cleveland) - Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish has asked county council to consider using $10 million in federal COVID-19 relief money to help people who can't pay their rent due to pandemic-related financial issues. This will be only for residents of Cuyahoga County suburbs, as the City of Cleveland has its own COVID relief money.

There's already such a COVID relief fund, but this would vastly increase what's available.

An organization called CHN Housing Partners has been coordinating these rent relief payments for Cuyahoga County, and they will determine which applicants are eligible, and for how much. If the funding is approved by county council, households could receive up to 12 months of help, and in some cases, an additional three months.

You can apply for the rental assistance online, or call 1-833-377-RENT.
