Josh Mandel Calling on Governor To End COVID Restrictions

(Cleveland) - Republican U.S. Senate candidate, and former Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel is demanding that Gov. Mike DeWine end the state's COVID-19 restrictions, as the governors of Texas and Mississippi have done.

Mandel told WTAM's Mike Trivisonno he wants to see all businesses be able to run their businesses as they wish, and to have all schools open to five-day-a-week in-person instruction if parents want it. He said, "it's time that we open everthing up, stop this craziness. Enough is enough. We get back to the personal freedoms and liberties that we deserve as Americans."

Mandel has criticized the Governor in the past, as well as former Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton. Speaking to Triv, Mandel said the two of them "predicted 62.000 cases per day. The reality is there was an average of 476 per day.

Governor DeWine has said he will not lift the mandate for people to wear face masks in public. Dr. Acton has indicated, but not yet announced, that she will run for the Democratic nomination for the same seat in the Senate being sought by Mandel.
