High Speed Chase Leads to Indictment for Grandson of Cleveland Mayor

CLEVELAND - Frank Q. Jackson, the grandson of Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, is charged with two felonies - felonious assault and failure to comply - in relation to an alleged high speed police chase in Parma in the early morning hours of Jan. 24, 2021. The chase followed a traffic stop for tinted windows on a vehicle being driven by the younger Jackson. Body-cam video from the scene shows Jackson refusing to leave the vehicle; officers try to pull him out, at which time Jackson speeds off and drags Officer Matthew Midlin alongside the vehicle. Midlin was not injured and Jackson turned himself into police hours later. At the time, there was a warrant out for Jackson's arrest in connection with a domestic violence investigation.
