Cuyahoga County Sued By Family Of Inmate Who Committed Suicide

(Cleveland) - Cuyahoga County is being sued by the family of a man who committed suicide while he was an inmate at the county jail.

According to the suit, jail guards knew that Brenden Kiekisz needed medication for bipolar disorder and depression, and had tried to take his own life two days before his arrest, but he didn't recieve proper medical screening in the jail. Kiekisz hung himself in his jail cell, and died three days later.

The suit says that Kiekisz's family suffered an unmeasurable loss, and that Kiekisz himself was denied constitutional rights.
