Governor Visits As Nursing Homes Receive Vaccine

(Parma) - Residents and staff at nursing homes across Ohio are now receiving doses of the COVID-19 vaccine made by Pfizer, as part of a nationwide roll-out of the vaccine. Governor Mike DeWine visited many of those nursing homes on Friday. One where he stopped was Pleasantview Care Center, on Ridge Road in Parma. About 300 staff and residents were scheduled to receive vaccinations.

The vaccinations are being handled at the nursing homes by staff from Walgreen's, CVS, PharmScript, and Absolute Pharmacy.

The governor wasn't actually next to the people receiving the vaccinations. For health purposes, the governor watched from another room on an iPad.

In addition to visiting nursing homes, DeWine is also visiting the state Veterans Home in Sandusky.
