VA Hospital Employee Facing Federal Charges

(Cleveland) - A Kent man is facing federal charges on 28 counts of theft and fraud, in an alleged scheme to rip off the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

William Precht was a supervisor at the Cleveland VA Medical Center. Justice Department officials say that between 2010 and January 2018, Precht took advantage of his position by spending approximately $1 million of the VA's money to purchase items from a company that he controlled. The feds also say Precht took kickbacks from a medial supply company with which he did official business.
