Rocky River Police Blotter: Ex Breaks Into Old Girlfriend's House

11/11/2020 Fraud

An Old Detroit Rd. resident reported that someone attempted to open a banking account, applied for a loan, and filed for unemployment benefits in her name. There are no suspects at this time and the detective bureau is investigating.

11/13/2020 Theft

At approximately 7:45 AM a patron at Planet Fitness on Detroit Rd. reported the window broken out on her 2015 Nissan Altima. When Officers arrived, they found that the woman's purse had been stolen from the car. Her purse contained approximately $400.00 in cash and credit cards and a credit card was subsequently used at a gas station. The detective bureau is investigating.

11/13/2020 Burglary

At Approximately 11:45 PM a Lakeview Ave. resident reported that her ex-boyfriend had just broken into her home through a back door. When officers responded they learned that the victim and her family were asleep when they heard someone banging on the door and a man yelling. The victim/resident was able to identify the man as an ex-boyfriend that she had broken up with 1 1/2 - 2 years ago. The man left the area prior to officer's arriving although the resident was able to give a description of the vehicle. The detective bureau followed up with the homeowner who later declined prosecution.
