Cleveland Man Arrested for Assaulting Women in Tremont

(Cleveland, OH) - Early this morning, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Kevin Ballard, 27. Ballard was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for rape and aggravated burglary. He was also wanted by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for a parole violation.

It is alleged that on October 4, 2020, Ballard attacked two women within minutes of each other in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood and then allegedly proceeded to sexually assault a woman later in the day at Target on West 117th Street. Ballard was just released from prison on Sept. 25, 2020.

The investigation into Ballard’s whereabouts was turned over to the NOVFTF in October. The NOVFTF followed up on numerous leads, conducted dozens of interviews, and featured Ballard as the Fugitive of the Week. Today investigators located Ballard at a bus stop near Euclid Ave. and Green Road in Cleveland. Ballard attempted to flee on foot but was eventually placed into custody after being bitten by the Task Force K-9.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “A dangerous fugitive is now behind bars after weeks of hard work by our Task Force members. Cleveland is a safer place today now that Ballard is in custody.”
