Rocky River Police Department Announces New Police Chief

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Lt. George J. Lichman, II to the position of Police Chief for the City of Rocky River effective Monday, November 2, 2020.Lt. Lichman replaces Chief Kelly Stillman who retired after years of dedicated service to the City of Rocky River.Lt. Lichman has served the City of Rocky River Police Department for 23 years, being promoted from Patrolman to Sergeant in January 2011; to Lieutenant in June 2015, serving as Executive Staff Assistant to Chief Stillman since March of 2020; and serving as Interim Chief since September 2020.Lt. Lichman is instrumental in the formation and continuation of the activities of the Rocky River Citizens Police Academy.He possesses a passion for continued learning and community engagement.His dedication to the Department and the community of Rocky River is unwavering.

Lt. George J. Lichman, II will be sworn into office on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at an outdoor ceremony at the flag display in front of Memorial Hall, 21016 Hilliard Boulevard, Rocky River.Masks and social distancing are required.
