(Medina) - The state has finished its investigation into the death of Lafayette Township Trustee Bryon Macron. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has determined that "there was no new incontrovertible evidence discovered indicating other persons may have been involved in the death."there was no new incontrovertible evidence discovered indicating other persons may have been involved in the death." Medina County Prosecutor Forrest Thompson has asked BCI to close the investigation.
Macron went missing in December, 2016, after his office was found in disarray. A kayaker on Chippewa Lake found Macron's body about two months later. Medina County's Coroner said Macron had six stab wounds, and the direction could have meant they were self-inflicted. It was never determined how Macron died, if it was from the wounds, or from drowning.
The Medina County Sheriff's Office determined in 2019 that nobody other than Macron was responsible for his death.
