Man Rescued From High Water In North Olmsted

(North Olmsted) - You know what they say when you start driving through water - "Turn around, don't drown." Someone this morning didn't turn around, and almost drowned.

North Olmsted Police and Fire were called out about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, to a report of a car trapped in rising water. Police say it was on Valley Parkway, south of Cedar Point Road, where Valley Parkway crosses a branch of the Rocky River using a river ford.

A swift water team from Lakewood Fire was called out to help, and Fairview Park Fire was also assisting. A diver was on standby just in case. By 7:10 a.m. the man, who was on the top of his car, had been rescued safely.
