Superintendents: Move High School Football & Soccer To Spring

(Parma) - The superintendents of 22 of Cuyahoga County's 31 public school districts, along with Brunswick in Medina County, are asking the Ohio High School Athletic Association to move fall contact sports - football and soccer - to the spring.

According to cleveland.com, the superintendents signed a petition to the OHSAA, saying they have serious reservations about playing football this fall. They feel that non-contact sports, such as volleyball, golf, tennis, and cross country, can continue.

The petition was signed by superintendents from Bay Village, Bedford, Berea, Brecksville-Broadview Heights, Brooklyn, Brunswick, Cleveland Heights-University Heights, Cleveland, Cuyahoga Heights, Euclid, Fairview Park, Garfield heights, Lakewood, Maple Heights, North Olmsted, North Royalton, Parma, Rocky River, Shaker Heights, Solon, South Euclid-Lyndhurst, Warrensville Heights, and Westlake.
