Medina Man To Face Death Penalty For Double Murder

(Medina) - The death penalty will be sought by prosecutors against Robert Dick, the man accused of killing his wife and mother-in-law, then leading police on a chase to Wayne County.

A Medina County grand jury on Tuesday indicted Dick on charges of aggravated murder and kidnapping.. Prosecutor Forrest Thompson is seeking the death penalty because two murders were involved.

Dick, 52, is accused of shooting and killing his wife Pamela, and her mother, Lillian Cox, Thursday afternoon. Dick's 17-year-old son called 911, after the boy found his father crying, and then telling his son he had shot the boy's stepmother, and that he was also going to kill the boy's step-grandmother.

Dick then eluded police for seven hours, until he was found in a wooded area near West Salem.

Police have not yet determined a motive for the killings.

He'll be arraigned in Medina County Court of Common Pleas on Monday, August 17.
