Cleveland Police Officer Shot, Wounded In Standoff

(Cleveland) - A Cleveland Police officer was shot and wounded early Monday morning during a standoff on the east side.

It happened about 4 a.m. outside a house on East 81st between Euclid and Carnegie Avenues.

The standoff ended after 6:30 a.m. according to reporters on the scene. Four men were seen being taken out of the house in handcuffs.

Media reports say the president of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association confirms that an officer was shot in the elbow, and is in stable condition at University Hospitals.

Police have not said why there was a standoff at the house, or for whom they were looking.
