Bay Village Police Blotter: Stolen Vehicles Galore

On July 13th, at 5:48am, Bay Village Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Glen Park Road on report of a stolen vehicle. The victim told police that the Honda Pilot was stolen out of the driveway in the overnight hours. The homeowner admitted that the vehicle was unlocked and the vehicle’s keys were left inside the vehicle. The vehicle was later discovered, abandoned, in the area West 56th and Koch Court in Cleveland.Bay Village Detectives are investigating.

On July 13th, at 6:49am, Bay Village Police were dispatched to the 26000 block of Huntmere Drive on report of a stolen vehicle. The victim told police that the Volkswagon Jetta was stolen from in front of the home in the overnight hours. The homeowner admitted that the vehicle was unlocked and the vehicle’s keys were left inside the vehicle. The vehicle was later discovered in the 4000 block of West 157th Street in Cleveland. Bay Village Detectives are investigating.

On July 13th, at 10:53am, Lorain PD called Bay Village PD to report they were in pursuit of a red Toyota Camry that had crashed into the a tree in the 200 block of Glen Park. The operator, who fled on foot, was a suspect in a Lorain homicide. Multiple agencies arrived in the area to assist and the suspect was later apprehended in the 300 block of Kenilworth Road by BVPD and turned over to Lorain Police.

On July 14th, at 12:14am, Bay Village Police stopped a vehicle in the area of Wolf Road and Bayfair Drive for multiple moving violations. Police spoke with the operator, a 29- year old Westlake resident, who appeared to be under the influence. The male failed field sobriety and was placed under arrest. On station, the male refused to provide a breath sample to test his level of intoxication. The male is facing charges in Rocky River Municipal Court.

On July 19th, at 3:38am, Bay Village Police took a report of a felonious assault that occurred in the 31000 block of Carlton Road. The victim, a 55 year-old Bay Village male, was assaulted by another male, a 30 year-old Strongsville resident, over relationship issues with a female they know in common. The victim went to the hospital with numerous injuries and the suspect male is being charged with Felonious Assault, Aggravated Burglary and Domestic Violence. Warrants are pending for his arrest.

On July 20th, Bay Village Police received a call from a concerned citizen who reported a vehicle out of gas in the area of Clague Road and Wolf Road. Further, the operator, a 51 year-old Fairview Park resident, seemed disoriented and confused as to his location. When police arrived, they found that the male operator was under the influence. The male failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. On station, the male provided a breath sample with showed a .058 blood alcohol content. The male is facing charges in Rocky River Municipal Court.
